Hi, am a tired but hopeful almost divorced person. Have been in the process for over a year now and have moved from the near suicidal position to the 'can we move on now - but don't disrespect me' place. I'm very lucky to have been nursed thru the worst of it by my friends/family and it sounds like this place can help too. I have suffered a loss of relationship with two of my children as my stbx is playing mindwarp with them but must claim some responsibility as am also in the process of changing myself (the timing is crap but inevitable in the circs) It's (divorce)like a huge SHOVE to make changes in your life, hopefully for the better. I just want some assurance that there is life after all this and that some people do survive!

Hi Coridon,

It takes time to get through the anger, the hurt and the turmoil that accompanies one's relationship with one's children that is occasioned by divorce.

YES, there is life after divorce, there is also life DURING divorce but our heads are usually so full of other stuff that we can't deal with normal life. We can't see it and so it seems unobtainable and unachievable, but please believe me it is there.

As we slowly come to terms with the emotions and get to grips with the reality that there is no point in living in the past or going over old ground, we can move forward in a constructive direction. It won't be easy and it may be painful still, but the pain will lessen. I understand that eventually it disappears.

Best wishes,

YA
