Just wanted to add on, just in case `lost' doesn't already know this - but matrimonial financial mediators can really help sort out the split in a sustainable way without resorting to lawyers at all in some cases. If lawyers need to be used, then collaborative ones are good to talk to as they often focus (or the ones I know do) on protecting the children through the whole process and keeping them the focus of what both parties are trying to achieve in the long term.

Having had my marriage suddenly disintergrate, I totally understand being devastated and being an emotional wreck.I think that your children may actually help yu through in the end. It is with regret that mine are grown up as I don't want to live on my own. Never have, came from enormous family.I know having been to a solicitor that you do have financial rights. I found a collabarative solicitor who gave me the first session free without committing myself to using her.It was very reasuring as money insecurities including money worries.
Good luck
xx.
