Hi

can anyone help me?

I remarried one month after my divorce and settlement from my first husband. I went into the marriage with over 30k which went into my new partners property as it was a dump literally.
A few months into the marriage i found out the property was still in joint ownership of his first wife (he divorced her 8 years previously).

To cut a long story short i left him after 14 months of a disasterous marriage and he refused to give me a divorce. He now has sold the house and inherited a share in his late mothers house.

It's now 2 years on i am contemplating bankruptcy as my overdraft has an overdraft.

My question is as i'm still married to him can i claim any of my money back. I tried to talk to him for the first time in over 2 years he was very rude (surprise surprise)

If anyone can help with advice i would appreciate it very much.

Regards Lynne

Hi there

You have a claim for at least your contribution to that house. You may be able to claim interim maintenance to assist you in the short term. Seek legal advice and get the ball rolling quickly before your personal financial position gets worse.
