Hi, I read about this site in an article about DIY divorces. I am separated and will soon be the respondent in divorce proceedings . As far as I am concerned I am widowed because the man who I married is not the man I am having to deal with now. There has been domestic violence and abuse and he is in total denial. He has always said he would not pay me a penny, if we divorced, that I was not entitled to anything from the marital home because it was in his sole name and he would fight for sole custody of our son.
So he resigned from his employment. I think on health grounds. He applied for NMO and got it and we had the final hearing a couple of weeks ago and due to a procedural misunderstanding I did not attend thinking it was adjourned and he was awarded an Occupation Order. He totally despises me and I am unsure why. But the pain is unbearable . I have completed the form (FL403) to vary or discharge an order but the courts are being really slow. The order has to be served to me then I have 10 days to vacate . I am in shock and am waiting for the knock on the door. I was referred to a domestic abuse unit which angered him so much as he considers himself as the victim not me. This is a lonely journey. It has been six months already . My hair is falling out and I have lost almost two stones.
i expect the child arrangement order to arrive any day now.
On a goo note in all this madness I had support our eldest through her A levels and she will heading of University soon.
Tomorrow I will have to beg the courts to help me . Our housing department are unable to because I have an interest in the marital home. I cannot comprehend that my husband and I are very unlikely to talk to each other ever again .
He really is not thinking of the impact this is having on our children.
He has shared my most private secrets with everyone and I feel totally betrayed. He has also told everyone that I am not allowed to talk to them because of the NMO and they believe him......
I cannot describe how I feel other than my heart hurts everyday.
My priority are my children and everyday I get a little bit stronger. I am hoping the NMO will not affect the distribution of our assets. I just want this done and to move on.
If I go I take my youngest with me. Surely a man who has had to leave work for health reason, is having counselling, taking antidepressants and on top of that is studying for his new career has his days filled up already? Where is the time to look after a child?????
He says I am an unfit mother, constantly refers to my negative past and really does look down on me. Absolutely no respect for me at all.
Definitely the worst experience I have every encountered.
The thing is I am a survivor and a winner. Watch this space.
