Just joined the site. I have been seperated for 20 months and divorce is progressing. I have 2 daughters of 14 and 16.
My STBX is living with the girls in the FMH and has not worked for the past 4 years by choice. My income covered all expenses, just!
Since leaving i have had to rent a 1 bed flat and have maintained the flat as well as the FMH. This has brought me to the debted place i find myself in. Huge overdraft i cannot escape from and spiralling further. STBX has been caught out earning money and hoarding it whilst still demanding more ,due to needs, from me. She now has £15K in accounts. she has stole from the kids savings accounts and used the kids as weapons against me. Her behaviour has been beyond words and too numerous here to state.
after all this i find myself facing a decision at my recent FDR of giving 75% of the house equity to her and 26.25% of my pension. I have all the joint debts totalling £12K plus school fees of £10K+ which will leave me with next to nothing from my 25% of the equity.
At this moment in time my future feels bleak. financially i will have little and no time to rebuild before retirement. I am sure the girls will end up living with me and she will be in a very nice financial position and i will be struggling. The judicial system still seems to be so heavily stacked against me even with her bad behaviour and + assets. Is all really lost?
