Hi, i'm currently going thru divorce - been seperated 2 years now and have been to cort twice, its a bit difficult as he lives in singapore.

We both earn about the same amount but he takes home £4000 after tax and I take home £2500 yet he does not want to pay me any spousal maintenance. What percentage of his take home pay should be maintenance for our 7 year old daughter - he has another kid that he lives with in singapore ---- ususal mid life crisis story about the sad middle aged manager working abroad getting lonely!

Thanks,
HMJ14

Hi

Maintenance for a single child is 15% of his net wage after NI and pension.

Spousel Maintenance is based on much imformation not just what he earns but also his needs

Your respective ages;

The number of children you have and their ages;

How many nights the children spend with each parent;

The length of your marriage and any period of pre marriage cohabitation;

Your respective incomes;

Your respective outgoings;

Your assets - both soley held and joint;

Your liabilities.
