I literally stumbled on this as I think I'll need a lot of the support and help on here...

Separated from my husband at the end of September (my choice, nobody else involved) - wont be putting divorce into action until the new year though and want to be prepared....

We are both in the same boat my marriage ended end of sept and I am going to start proceedings in new year. Have a look on some of the other threads to see how to start. Are you self repping. I am thinking of doing it myself and get solicitor to do financial side of things save costs.

Hi guys - thanks for the welcome...

I'm not sure how I'll be proceeding, think I'll look here and see what is best - think I'll need a solicitor, the ex's dad is a solicitor so I will probably need one!

Hi hazel1974.

Sorry to find your in this position.

There's loads of us here that can give you a shoulder to cry on. It's not a very nice place to be in.

Use the chat room as and when you need it, or post questions and comments on the forum. There's a lot of people here that have a lot of answers to the questions you'll be faced with.

When your sat there not knowing where to turn next try starting a blog. It's a good place to find the answers that your not sure of. As you poor you heart into it, like a lot of us do, you find it theraputic. Then you can look back at it to find that you've become stronger.

Hi Hazel,
welcome to wiki.
guys I would advise you all if you are definitely going to petition for divorce it is better to do it now rather than waiting because the other partner will try an clear the finance if possible.Money is not everything but the bone of contention in a divorce.
