I have decided to take the plunge and end a marriage that is not working out. I am blotting out all feelings and just want everything to be over...

You don't ask for a comment; and there's no question: but your 'blotting out all feelings' is not a good thing.

It will not 'all be over' in a hurry. Too much to sort out; too much pain, anger, hurt etc to deny. You can try denial; but it'll bit you on the bum when you least expect it.

People that grieve their marriage seem to come out much better than those that deny it and try and brush emotions aside. My guess is when your ex is in a good, new place: You will only then start to realise the devastating reality of what Divorce is.

Divorce takes time. If you're lucky then six months. If sorting finances becomes protracted then expect 12-18 months; possibly longer.

Sadly there is no magic wand to make it all go away. Best you park up your bike in the wiki bike shed; and put the kettle on.
