Hi,
I have been separated for 3 years, Ex working away during the week but coming back to family home weekends to see our kids. So far split has been fairly amicable but def more me that wanted it than him.
I hate having him back in the house at weekends but think it is the best solution we can find at the moment as it works for the kids to stay in their own home and separately neither of us could buy our own place.
We have taken a long time getting divorced but I have a new partner now so am getting more anxious that it gets done. The first problem I have is that my ex has petitioned but is now doing nothing further about it. I would prefer not to have to get a solicitor. Does anyone know if it is possible for me to also petition or if there is any other solution so that I can speed things up??
;)

Hi. You dont need a solicitor. So you are saying that you have had petition and returned it? I dont understand soz. He petitions you. You are the respondant and sign and return the service. Provided all is well you will get your nisi. Then 6 weeks one day he applys for absolute. If he dont apply then you can after 3 months after the date of your nisi. Thats it you are free to remarry should you so wish. So where is this stuck then? Dont even think of cross petitoning. Its a gross waste of time and money. C
