Hi there

You have had very sound advice thus far.

I am afraid that after 5 years too much time has elapsed for you to make an application under Hague, as the child will be deemed to be habitually resident in Italy.

However, you can make an application for contact via the Italian courts, and would need an Italian lawyer to assist with that.

First of all, I am grateful for the advice and help you have given me. I am so thankful.

I was sure in my heart that my child had been abducted from me but I was the only one who thought it. Because I was not married to my ex-partner, my family assumed I had no rights. Now I find out the only hope i had, which I knew deep down did exist, is extinguished. I am upset and angry at the many people I had contacted for help and advice. Over the years, I had searched the internet finding nothing. I thought I was alone. I had wrote to my MP, contacted fathers' rights groups all to no avail. My sister is a solicitor! Although i am hugely disappointed with everyone I have met over the past 5 years who could have given me this information I, ultimately, take full responsibility.

I will endeavour to make sure this time barr never happens to another soul. I hope you do too.

Than you all, Amanda, Dukey & Fiona again for your advice which, in itself, is supportful.
