Some advice please! I think my H is playing dirty

I have reason to think that my H is trying to sell his business to avoid it being taken into account in any settlement. Does anyone know whether he is able to do this.

I do know that if he did it long enough before the split then only his income would be taken into account but if he is only just sorting it out then does it matter? He refuses to leave the house and maintains that I should go and live with my parents as he has nowhere to go but I don't want to disrupt my DD's life any more than it has to and xmas away from home would do just that.

He has been quite cruel to me recently and I have been told by many people that I am strong to still be here. I simply feel I must do everything I can for the sake of my little girl (and the baby I'm carrying)

Any advice gratefully received

Hallo

I'm so sorry you are in this grotty situation. But you can be strong for your children, well done.

I guess that as your husband's business is his he can sell it - but the proceeds of the sale would be taken into account as part of your financial settlement.

The courts would prioritise the wellbeing and housing of your children first (which would include you as their carer in residence). As you are going to have a baby the court won't expect you to get a job for a while, so you would certainly be getting spousal as well as child maintenance.

But I think you need to get some legal advice soon. Don't let your husband bully you into leaving.
