Hello - I'm very new to all this so bear with me. This is my thrid attempt at writing an introduction so not going well so far! I went to the docs a while ago (third batch of tonsilitus in the space of 6 months). The doc looked at me and said it was all connected to my divorce (what - my tonsils!!!???) And that I would start to feel better once I started to talk through my experiences with other people. (I thought antibiotics did the trick just as well!)He asked if I had thought about joining one of those forum things to meet like minded people. No chance! You will never get me on one of those website things ever I said!!!! Took my prescription and left!

My friends and family have been nagging me for some time that I should try and get in touch with other people who have been through something similar. My response was always - I don't need to - I can talk to you lot!!! Poor things! Then my mate read Ruby's piece about blogs in Easy Living magazine and shoved the article under my nose and gently suggested I check out Wikivorce! And what do you know? Here I am writing my introduction on one of those website type forum things I swore I would never use! And it's is genuinely like starting a course of penicilin! I read some of the blogs the other day and you have all been through it too. All the stuff I thought I was the only one feeling - you all know what I am talking about - phew!!!!

I'm 33, I was with the boy for 8 years. We were married for 6 months and then he left and my world fell apart and my heart broke. My divorce was finalised this September - 2 years after we tied the knot! So last year was pretty grim to say the least. Anyway - that's me!Not sure if anyone will read this, but feel better for writing it.

Hi Flump

Welcome to Wiki. This is truly a great place to be, so its good that you joined. Yes it does help sharing your experience with people who have gone through the same thing.

We even have a chatroom that you can pop into - alot of people to talk to, have a laugh with and also alot of people to lend a listening ear when you need it

Take care

Hi flump

Welcome to wiki

Your doc's not wrong i would prescribe you the wiki forum to make you feel better.

when i was going through a very rough patch just before the end of my marriage i was always at the doc's with throat infections, as they say when your stressed your immune system is low and you seem to pick up everything.

Keep posting or do a ruby and blog or maybe see you in chat.

Welcome to wiki Flump.

Its such a relief to find out that you are not alone, that there are others who have experienced the same as you, and being able to share your emotions, thoughts, etc with others who understand.

Glad the magazine thing gave you the nudge to find us here.

Take Care

hi flump. you replied to my blog and i wanted to say thanks. wierd as it must have been ruby's piece in easy living that i read and it inspired me to come onto this site and start my own blog. i agree with everyone else who says when you are low you are likely to pick up infections and i would bet its all connected to your divorce. like me, you have found an outlet so i hope it helps you
