I have been with my partner for a year and a half now i am 22 and he is 24. Before we met hes was married with a child for less than a year when he discovered his wife had committed adultery. They have been separated since April 2007 and she is also in anew relationship. She left the marital home and moved into rented accomodation with their child and has been there for over a year. He is still in the marital home and paying the mortgage and all bills. He wants to start divorce proceedings but when he told her she said that she did not want me in his house etc and if she found out i was she would move back in! He sees his daughter everyday ans he takes her and picks her up from school whilst her mother is at work and she stays 2 nights a week. His wigfe was fine with the arrangements until she found out he wanted a divorce. He has no idea where to start and we just want some advice on his rights etc and what to do next. Help anyone, it will be greatly appreciated.

Hi evisu

There is loads of information on this site to help get an idea of how divorce works. For me I decided to get a solicitor and went to a couple of local solicitors that offered free initial consultations which I found very helpful initially, and then selected the solicitor I preferred to act in my divorce.

With regard to your partners ex threatening to move back in, he cannot stop here as it is still her house as well. However it would be a terrible atmosphere for everyone including their daughter and he should remind his ex of that fact.
