If you go down the divorce route I think you will find that many of us have not found it to be fair. My husband has virtually been a kept man for 19 years and not contributed to house and home and after working for 32 years in my business I have sold it and he will now prob. be entitled to a large chunk of the proceeds - he left in October and I feel fairly sure he has another woman but I cant prove it. Im very new to all this but the message I am getting from others is that its best not to dwell too much on all this but to try to focus on making a new life and surviving during these early days. With very best wishes and I hope you find a good lawyer.

Hi there

Gaynor is right , best not to dwell too much on the past and to concentrate on what you have now and how it can best be divided to give you each a fair start going forward ... not an easy task !
On divorce , everything you have will be thrown into the pot and then divided up ... solicitors etc are very expensive , it is always best if you can agree things between yourselves .
If you post up more info on this site there are some very helpful peeps who will give you an idea of how things might be worked out .

Why is life so unfair ? As I used to say to my children its cos "Whys a crooked letter and it cant be straightenend !!"

Good luck
