I have just joined this forum and would like to introduce myself. 64 years old- fully employed- and 1 abusive mariage behind me some 25 years ago and now after 12 years of being sponged upon and lied to, the 2nd Divorce is underway.
I have lived in Australia and the Far East for 23 years returning to the UK in 1985. Great time overseas as an accountant based mainly in Hong Kong. Came over here with my daughter after a terrible divorce experience I would not wish on anyone. Get this- my car was crushed up into a tiny square and left at my works car par - in my space- that's how bad it got.
2nd Marriage, after 15 years of being single seemed OK, lost his job soon after I married him and did not seem to want to get another one, blamed his age. Had some funds coming in from other sources, although not very much.
We made plans to retire to Thailand but the political situation down there is not good, so we then planned for Spain- unfortunately he is 4 years younger than me so can not get the full Health Coverage in Spain until he is 65 and claiming his Pension.
After I recently found out all the lies that I have been told during the last 6 months (possibly longer) that was the last straw - plus recent disgusting use of my personal pc- ( adults not children thank heavens) I have filed for divorce today.
Not sure where my future will go. I have 2/3rd of a house and some small savings but nothing major in the way of ininstant finance. Luckily my employer would like me to stay on for another year so that might help.
It all comes down to feeling totally inadequate as a wife even though nothing that I had done caused either of these divorces.
We are trying to live in the same house with seperate bedrooms but that is proving very stressful. Any one else had the same rotten luck that I seem to have with husbands
ps I get to keep the dogs

I am so sorry you are going through marital breakdown again. It's not as though you rushed into your 2nd marriage either!

I have been separated from my husband for 6 months and have discovered that I really like the person I am and that I am my own best company, so I'm not thinking about marriage again either.

Keep posting and welcome to the site.
