Hi Rewin

I am trying to be amicable with my stbx - she is the petitioner - we have 2 kids - 4 & 6.5 yrs, whom I absolutely adore and miss sorely when I don't see them...... our split was 'amicable' and we decided that we wanted to move on, although she had the usual 'I love you, but not in love with you' scenario... which kicked it all off, but in hindsight I also felt the same (we are awaiting the DN) - I have moved out etc.

As for the 'amicable' bit, the only way that I can find to do that now, is not to contact her unless it's about the children, and I try to avoid prolonged contact with her (more than 15mins) because although it was a joint decision (actually more hers than mine) it hurts like hell to have 16 years together wiped out just like that!

Also, bear in mind, and this is the bit that hurts, she will 'change' beyond recognition in her attitudes etc and you won't recognise the person with whom you have to be amicable.

nevertheless, keep posting.....

cheers

dd
