Hi, My name is Rick and Im from South Africa. Im 36 and very recently separated and divorced, all in just over 2 months. I was married for 7 years and in a relationship for 9. We had no kids.

My story is that we divorced due to lack of committment to the marriage by my ex-wife. Work was more important than marriage and raising a family. So we grew apart and lived seperate lives. We had love, but it was not enough to fight the realities of life with. So we parted very amicably with no drama or trouble.

Divorce is hell, there is not other word to describe it. My objective is to recover as best I can and possibly help others who are going through the same issues as me. I take a realistic approach to problems and try not have pity parties, cause that gets you nowhere very fast.

Hi Rick and welcome to wiki

It's a good attitude to have, you have also shown that even if a divorce is ammicable it still hurts like hell.

I'll look forward to reading your input into the site.
