Hey, I have been married for 10 years, wife is an alcoholic. She is getting drunk and recently started staying out all night so with a 7 year old angel in tow I am stopping the hurt here.

She has disappeared tonight and I got home with my daughter to find one of her pets dead. She is never here for my daughter or me so I have decided to get divorced try and keep the house and try and live a normal life.

Any-one got any great ideas.

Would be good.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope your daughter is OK about her pet? Will it be a funeral in the garden tomorrow?

There is a lot you need to think about but there is no reason why a dad cannot be the parent with care. There are Dads on this site that perform that role, myself included, although my kids are a bit older (15 and 12)

Use this site a lot to get information, get things of your chest, get support and just generally help you to cope! There are lots of great people on here!

All the best!

Steve

Cheers Steve, No doubt about it I will get the little one. She has trouble staying sober for a week. Its a shame as I have spent a lot of money trying to help her but in the end she dont wanna stop. I am gonna be skint but half so much less stress.

Hi Jed

Sorry I can't offer you any legal advice just a hand of support, I've been where you are and now 4 1/2 weeks down the line, you say you'll be worse off but i've found the opposite as I'm no longer supporting his alcoholism as he wasted all his wages as well, if your entitled get onto childs tax credit asap they are really quick at sorting these claims out.

Good Luck and keep positive and plenty of hugs for your 7 year old I find that's what a 7 year old likes best.

Take care and don't expect miracles overnight.x
