Introducing myself - recently separated from a woman I was married to for 7yrs; I knew from early on it wasnt right but, for various reasons, stuck with it; tried to leave in 2005 but failed; then had a gorgeous little boy with her; now we have split up and she has left to live overseas with our son for good. Missing him a lot. Feeling lonely, afraid, very foolish, a bit naive, and deeply saddened at how life can turn.

Can anyone relate?

thanks

welcome to wiki - you'll get a lot of support here - I have, and continue to do so either by asking questions or by posting my response to a thread.

I know how you feel - though I only see my kids every fortnight, it nevertheless is deeply hurtful that I can't see them everyday as I used to.

Have you tried talking to her and arrange a visit during your holidays to go out and see your child?

I have a friend who has had a similar experience (his ex moved back to Denmark, but he goes out there every 3 months to be with his daughter)

hang in there and keep posting

take care

dd

Hallo Kebby and welcome to Wikivorce.

I think we can all relate to feeling lonely and afraid!

My sons are teenagers and my husband isn't bothered with them much which is a source of great sorrow to me. He lives 5 mins drive away but only manages to see them once or twice a week. Mind you he probably has more contact with them now than when he was living here.
