Last night I ruptured a ligament in my left ankle, caused by slipping on the kitchen floor, all thanks to the slippers I was wearing.
My girls fetched a friend, who promptly called an ambulance. Things werent looking good, lots of sucking of teeth (you know the noise that mechanics make when you take your car in for an oil change, and they suck their teeth and tell you need a new oil sump, windscreen, etc), and talk of compound fractures....anyhow, after a 2 hour journey to A&E, a number of x-rays later, and as much
entonox as I could greedily inhale, a rather dishy doctor informed me that I had ruptured a ligament, and could expect to be in a great deal of pain for the next 5-7 days.....
I was discharged at midnight - and prepared myself to spend the night in the waiting room until I could get home the following day. Also there was a man who had wrestled with a quad bike, turns out he lives on a nearby estate (farming, not housing!), and asked if I would like a lift home. Fab! The only downside to the journey home was a rather over-friendly dog, who after luring me into a false sense of security, spent most of the journey trying to s**g my arm But at least I got home
So here I am, confined to the house for a few days, but with promises from friends and neighbours to pop in every day and look after me.
Any suggestions on what I can do to entertain myself are welcome - anything but watching daytime tv ......
Good grief woman, you're not safe to be left alone
Hope you're ok today and not in too much pain? You can look at doing some serious reading, listening to music, sorting out your family photo's into albums and if you get really bored i believe you can do jeremy kyle, judge judy, trisha, jeremy kyle double bill and then the girls will be home.
Have you done your valentines letter and card yet?
Sorry to hear about your accident. Day time television is appauling but can certainly make you laugh when you see all these people on J Kyle and the incre3dibility of it all. I would go on to Amazon and order some nice books for next day delivery or send out for a bottle of wine and some chocolates but try not to open wine until at least lunchtime! Hic. Make the most of it and enjoy putting your feet up, you have every excuse and I hope you get well soon.
Is this fate telling you to have a wee rest and pamper yourself I could give you loads of things to do given my leg injury history such as scan divorce file:blink:...but I think you should give yourself a facial, manicure, neck and shoulder massage, abdomen massage then lie back and read a good book I do hope you are up and about soon and not in too much pain.
