Hi, Been on & off here since 2008 & am glad of the support.
I have moved twice since my divorce & I have realised that somewhere along the way the folder with all the divorce stuff in has gone, most likely burned or shredded.

In the unlikely event I want to get married in the future can I just get a copy from the court it was approved in?

Yes, you can request a copy although there will be a court fee. This used to be £5 but may have gone up recently.

My advice to you is get hold of a copy now as the courts don''t hang onto them forever. I''ve seen clients who have had tremendous difficulties as they have been unable to prove that they were divorced - to the extend that it as even been suggested that they go through the process again!

Thanks Charles. I shall get a copy to file away. I have no intention of going through that again x
