Wikimeets are organised by the members, so when you''re feeling up to it perhaps you could arrange a meeting near you?

From time to time there is one in London and many people find they can get into London relatively easily. What we need is for someone to organise a London meet.

It doesn''t have to be a major event. Just choosing a meeting place for a few drinks and a meal somewhere central is ideal.

Then complete the form in Events - job done.

Anyone?

Hi! Well done singularmeon for trying to set up a meeting. There are members on the south coast near you.

Keep it simple the first time, e.g. meet for a drink and chat followed by a meal either in the same venue or move from a pub to a nearby restaurant. Bear in mind it needs to have a menu a) most people can afford and b) there are options for vegetarians and/people with allergies.

I have organised a few meets now and found most people can find something they like on an Italian menu or say mixed Mediterranean/English with both meat and fish dishes and salads.

If you get stuck filling in the event post ask rubytuesday to help you. Just send her the details of what you think is a nice venue with Post Code, date and times etc. and an outline of what you plan to do.

Even if only a few people register I would say go ahead anyway, because it''s very important to start venturing out again and wikimeets are about the most socially safe place to begin to socialise. You don''t have to explain to anyone how you''re feeling - they already know and understand!

And as sun flower said, we are all very normal people just supporting each other through the trauma of divorce.

Bump.

If wikis who have indicated they are probably coming could register it would be really helpful now.

If you''re still unsure or nervous about moving outside your comfort zone, send me a PM. We can arrange to meet earlier that so that you''re not walking into a group of strangers alone.
