Hi there, I am struggling with finding legal advice on the financial matters, regarding divorce. I am trying to find out where I stand in my situation, I have posted here twice before, and not had many answers.:( I have been quoted £215.00 for a one to one on financial matters with a high street solicitor. Is it worth paying for the one off to find out exactly where I stand before putting in for divorce and possibly self representing. Is there anywhere or anyway I can find out legal advice a cheaper way, my situation is a little messy, I know me and ex will not agree regarding property, all assets are tied up, liquid assets are minimal, I claim WTC to supplement my income, earning less than £10,000 gross profit with a seasonal business. Feeling stuck....any advice would be amazing thanks in advance.

Hello,

It''s all very daunting isn''t it? :s Wikivorce offer a fixed fee financial consultation, which is a telephone consultation with an experienced family law solicitor to discuss where you stand legally, your options for moving forwards, and to discuss what a fair financial settlement would look like for you. You can find out more here - www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Legal-Advice-O...cial-Settlement.html and you could call our helpline on 012020 805020 to discuss further with one of our advisers.

Wikivorce is probably the best free resource there is to help those who are litigants in person during family law proceedings. This post has a lot of very useful and informative articles and is a very good starting point Resources for Litigants in Person

Looking back at your previous posts I see you have already consulted a solicitor and were advised to register RX1 with the Land Registry. You said you required consent to register, but you can register unilaterally if there is evidence of your claim. Evidence would be a sealed court order or claim when court action is pending. So you (or a solicitor on your behalf) need to apply to court to start proceedings. The application, Form A, is available to download free from the Ministry of Justice website.
