I have been separated from my husband for nearly 2 years and and am now completing the divorce paper work. We have a child who is 5. I am completing the D8A form and I''d like to understand whether you must state that the child resides with just one parent when both her father and I look after her equally throughout the week, me 4 days and her father 3 days.

Would we still however need to put one address with one parent being deemed as who the child lives with?

I also wondered how a completely equal child living arrangement would impact child maintenance, if we intend to share every cost.

All this having been agreed amicably.

Thanks

Hello Frankie and welcome to Wikivorce.

The D8a form hasn''t been used since April last year, so there''s no need to complete one. Instead, you will asked to fill in your children''s details on the D8; but you are no longer required to specify living arrangements.

When parents share care equally, then the expectation is that no child maintenance is required to be paid from parent to another, and each is responsible for meeting the child-related costs.
