Hi everyone

Am I correct in thinking that a pension is split 50:50 but only for the time you were married?
We both paid into a pension for 10 years before we married and were married for 20 years. Therefore it would be half of two thirds?
As I haven't worked for 15 years due to bringing up children x2bs pension (Civil service) is 4X mine.
Any help appreciated.

Hi there

After a marriage of 20 years the whole of the pension will be taken into account. Also because you have not paid into your because you were raising the children te court is likely to want to see an equalisation of the pensions.
