I have been married for 32 years the solicitor has said I am entitled to half the house or maybe 60% as I would lose his pension on his death. Has this happened to anyone thank you

Has your solicitor advised upon the possibility of a pension share?

32 years of marriage would usually involve a 50:50 split of all assets unless there was a good reason to depart from that approach.

Thank you Charles for your advice. He may give me all the house if I do not claim a share in his pension. He is 71 this year so I may take that option when I have seen what he actually receives each month.
