I have 3 pensions which were all fully paid before I met my wife. We have now known each other for 12 years and have been married for 11 years. I am 76 and my wife is 75. My wife is now divorcing me ( we are between "Nisi" and "Absolute"). Does my wife have any entitlement to my pensions which were all paid up before we even met?

You'd need to give more details.

Is she dependant upon you?

What other assets are there?

Did she give anything up, for example a widows pension, when you married?

She has her State Pension, she owns 57% of the matrimonial home which is sufficient for her to buy a suitable house outright. She has a part-time dog boarding business run from home and a part time manicure business again run from home. Her income from these businesses is low, probably averages about £300 per month. She used to own a house which she bought to provide a pension income and rented it out but before I met her she sold the house. She decided not to make any voluntary contributions to her works pension scheme. She retired at normal retirement age.
