Transfer of title - conveyancing?

We co-own two properties.
In our agreed financial Consent Order (court has approved it), it says that my ex will transfer her share of property A to me, and I will transfer my share of property B to her, transfer of title deeds, etc.

Her solicitor had said they were able to do this but now they say we each need to engage a solicitor for the conveyancing.
Is this right? The properties are not being sold, isn't updating title deeds simpler than a regular sale?

edit: just to add, there is no dispute between us and things are amicable.

The alternative is to do it yourself and send the forms and fee to Land Registry.
But if you get it wrong it could cost time and money to put right in the future.
Bear in mind there may also be CGT to calculate and pay.
