Hi, can anyone think of a reason my husband would have for stalling arrangements. My solicitor has contacted him twice asking for debt figures and agreement on mortgage payments in order to get a Separation Agreement in place. He walked out november 08, is not using a solicitor and only sending emails in reply with no information. There is debt of about £20000 mostly in his name which he is doing nothing to rectify and holds all the paperwork for. He is supposed to be paying the mrtgage but I don't know this month. Whats he up to?

Hi aquarius,

the exes only stall wen they have the poss of upperhand. If ur ex has all the info and wont disclose/cooperate....find a sol that not scared and get into court!

Elle

PS others will disagree...ask them for their supportive sols contact details...if u get any I will eat my shit.

My STBX-husband stalled for 6 months and we have now lost £30k on the value of the house. He is buying me out so I am the loser. Also all his pensions have dropped in value as they are linked to the stock market. So devaluation of any assets could be why he's doing it?

Hi aquarius,
From personal experience: my tbx has managed to drag ancillary relief out to the extent that next time we are in court his (very high-earning) contract will have finished. So he can say he has no income and so cannot pay any spousal maintenance or child maintenance!! He will then blame the recession and say it's impossible for him to find another job, even though recruitment agencies phone the FMH several times a week wanting to speak to him about a possible contraact.
So...this is simply my possible explanation. Unfortunately, many wikipeeps will be able to offer you a very wide variety of very inventive, creative excuses and explanations for stalling or, shall w call them, fairy tales, fictions or simply BS!!
Good luck, hun.
