Wrong address on correspondence

Hi,

I noticed late last year that my solicitors were using the address of the old family home on correspondence to me. I had my first session with them prior to moving out, so that was the address they had on their system, and they had failed to update with my new address. This was of great concern since they were sending bills, with itemised descriptions of the topics we were discussing. Obviously it would have been a nightmare if my ex had been receiving these. I flagged it with the law firm, who assured me that correspondence was only sent out by email, so no hard copies would have been going to the address shown. I asked them to make sure that the address was corrected on their system in any case, but noticed that my latest bill this year still had the old address. Not very reassuring. Does it seem plausible that no hard copies would be sent out?
Cheers,
Barnaby

It's unlikely they would lie to yo. But you can check because you will be charged for any correspondence be it a letter or an email (or both) if it was sent out.

Also, any letter is usually marked something like 'by email only'. or 'by email and post'. So perhaps that on the letters you received by email.

I wouldn't personally worry about it too much.

I can top that! On Christmas Eve my solicitor, who normally only e mails me, sent my bill out with a letter addressed to my soon to be ex husband!
Thankfully I managed to intercept the letter as I could see in the window that it said "dear Mrs..." I was so angry and mortified and felt let down so I changed solicitors.

I have repeatedly asked my sols to email only as stbx has had post redirected but they still do both. Guess its a good money earner. Biggest worry is if they have sent mail for some correspondence that I dont receive.
