ok so don't mention the specific form - just couch it in terms of 'we ought to share information'. I wouldn't give him the ball park figure of thechildren's costs - I'd give him a list of your outgoings in exactly the same way as you would put them on form E.

You may be able to manage without his input but the children are entitled to have a contribution from him, commensurate with his means. Don't do them out of it. This is not about your new relationship it is about his obligation to support his children in the best way he can.

And register your interest on every single one of those properties! No point in worrying about whether he might dissipate the assets, make sure that he can't.

BobbinAlong - unfortunately, he barely has any income these days. In fact, I probably have a higher income than him, because of all of his money being tied up in his property portfolio.

4 of the houses are on the market and apparently I'll "get my pound of flesh" when he sells any/all of them. But liquidating assets in a tough housing market is rather at the whim of the buyers and my XHTB being willing to price houses realistically rather than what he thinks other people should pay....!
