Onion Bhagis and chips?

More like UNhealthy eating.......

I have always cooked meals from scratch until recently. I am trying to run my freezer down so that I can defrost it so this evening I found some 'healthy eating' onion bhajis and small amount of to go with them!

I am having some very strange meals but they fill a gap but I am looking forwrd to eating some 'normal' dishes very soon. It takes ages to run freezer down when you are on your own doesn't it?

I wonder what other people are eating when cooking for one?

If you are starting from scratch then, put soem good stuff in.
Get a small, or large, slow cooker from a british heart foundation shop, but they are not that expensive from say argos.
Use them to cook allsorts then you can freeze the excess. Label it so you know what it is and then when you thaw it, you can do other stuff like turn one into a curry if you fancy, much better with chips.

I am very health conscious which is why I found it so funny. I always bulk cook and freeze away the extra portions but I m determined to get the freezer defrosted!

Just before Christmas I ran down my freezer and had some very strange and random combinations of food ........... some healthy, many not so ....

But my biggest adventure was finding some home cooked pies wrapped in freezer bags unmarked.

I remembered my friend making me some 'meaty' ones and some 'fruity' ones and couldn't remember which ones were which ......

So I got them out to defrost and did taties and veg and gravy, when I served up I gingerly cut open the pie ....... and they were corned beef & veg - yay!!!

I was half expecting a mouthful of summer fruits and apple with my bisto

I still have some spinach balls I need to do something with ......... hmmmmmm ..... any ideas?

I love cooking food from scratch, but have my secret guilty pleasures lurking in the freezer too

mmmm spinach balls........... sorry can't make it over for tea..............in a tomato sauce with pasta? I have so many labels in the bottom of my freezer so its going to get interesting.

You're lucky to have a freezer which needs defrosting! Mine is auto defrost (if that's the correct term) and decided to defrost a lot of food without me realising. I had to throw it all away. I didn't add up how much, I just had to get rid of it but the birds had gateaux for Christmas and the wild animals in the woods close by had gammon and salmon. Apparently it's the auto-defrost which is the problem and with a call out fee of £90 + parts, it's still empty.

Spinach and smoked salmon omelette is nice.

Oh Mitchum, What a pity. I haven't got any salmon in mine. Had I known I would have saved you some bhajis and I am sure that White Rose will find you something nice from hers. The wild animals had quite a feast, lucky them.

I had two whole pigs butchered and put them into a large freezer and unfortunatly it went wrong and I lost the whole lot. I was absolutely devastated to have killed then for nothing and had to bag all the meat up and take it to the local tidy tip. I cried all the way there. The assistant wanted to take it to feed his dogs even though it was really foul smelling and I nearly had to wrestle him to put it in the container, still weepy I might add.

When repair costs are so high it is almost not worth considering but that is the society we live in now unfortunately. Still, at least you won't have to thaw those tiny packages of very precious food wondering what they are and why you bothered to put them ther in the first placeB)
