Hi POMPEYJEFF,

I have just read your initial question on this thread and must say that I am unsure of what it is that you want. You want a trial separation and yet you have formed a relationship with another woman which although not intimate is worth you mentioning.

To my mind a trial separation is not a licence to commit adultery, it is a period designed to enable each of the parties to reflect upon themselves, each other, their relationship and the resulting quality of life for them and their family.

What you seem to be undergoing is a 'midlife crisis' and the way you are going about it is going to end your marriage 100% dead and you know it.

In order to prepare your kids for the worst, ie the divorce, all you need to do is to tell them the truth. That it is a matter strictly between you and their mother and they are not the cause of it.

It would be polite if you were to tell the lady with whom you have formed a relationship that you haven't left your wife for her.
