Well Goofyfoot we've ended up with an almost identical scenario.

Shared care, week about. Houses about 1 minute apart. Kids changeover on Sundays with an overnight case containing DS's and other essentials. We had enough clothes & toys to share between 2 houses anyway so no major expense there.

Yes we've doubled up on some things but share the petrol lawnmower and, both having mostly laminate & lino, we even share a hoover!!! At least for now anyway lol.
