Hi All, i have been with my partner for 4 years, he has been seperated for 5years and divorced for just under 4. he has 2 children who are 8 and 6
we are curently having problems with social services, and the x wife keep trying to change the arranged times to see the children
My partners x wife put in the statement for the arrangements for children that custody was to be shared equally and it has done ever since yet now she is changing her mind every so often to make sure she is in control which is affecting the children

Hi xhxsx

Am a newbie here too, and am just starting my own separation journey with 6 and 8 y.o. children. Already realising that control seems to be a big part of the problem, and also even if an agreement is in place it can still be renegged upon - crazy!

Makes you think something has to be done so both parties can move on knowing their respective roles will not alter, if for no other reason than to give the kids some stability and continuity.

Good luck

hi xhxsx

There is little social services can do unless the children are at risk of 'significant harm' and by that I mean neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse and/or emotional abuse. The last one is extremely hard to prove so if its all on that level you will struggle to get them involved. Is there a reason why she has changed her approach?

both kids have been put on child protection register recently, they have also said they want the oldest to see a counsellor as they believe she has been emotionally abused, ss also have an open case with neglect, she also has a very bad record with social services etc

she has changed her approach as my partner lost his job recently and has started a new one, it is less wages than before and because of us having the kids for 50% of the time she is trying to change it so she gets more money, she said this on an open csa forum
