Thank you for all your comments as it has made an impact on Tim and his attitude. I don't think he really realised how upset I was about it, but since reading replies has realised that it was not an accepted situation.

Kick up the backside was needed; it shouldn't have been needed, no excuses.

Sleeping arrangements are now sorted.

I can't see the naive status quo in the TimH household lasting much longer. Chapter 1 of the rest of my life started 6 months ago, and I believe Chapter 2 will soon become a work-in-progress.
