I felt I was too old to start again with someone else and how unfair it was that my ex could take up with a younger model. Then I started getting compliments on how I look and realised it was because I was feeling more relaxed and happy and smiling. So I thought I could get into another relationship, but guess what

I can't be ***ed! I have had enough of compromising (ie giving in) doing things I don't want to do to keep someone else happy when I wasn't happy etc.

I am enjoying being me! Can't see that any man has anything to offer me that I think is worth sacrificing my independence for.

Thank you for your response. I think I may be able to relate to your situation soon. I am getting there slowly but surely. Already, just doing what I want when I want - and having no one criticizing is already beginning to feel great!

I am not quite past my use by date, but certainly past my sell by date! Any thoughts or suggestions about future relationships other than friendships strike this great big robot I have stuck on top of my head and it starts flashing amber for danger! I am just too old and tired to bother to go through all the rigmarole of dating etc again. I will stick to the Teddy Bear in my X2B's chair at least he doesn't challenge everything I say!

Isn't it funny, that even in the midst of utter emotional chaos - we can still see the comical side of it all! It's a bit like getting the giggles at a funeral!

Take care and you are a great inspiration! xx S
