Today in the post I received a document entitled Notice of Termination of Proposed Agreement from my ex-wife, not via a solicitor. It appears to be some legalise type document downloaded from somewhere and sent to me in an attempt to make the CSA withdraw from handling the CM. In short she pays me CM for our son and I pay her CM for our daughter. Does this document ( wordings below exactly as written with no typos and capitals as they are placed in the document except I've removed the names) have any legal basis whatsoever ?

" Dear Mr.............

Your attention is drawn to the above referenced matters.

This Notice informs you it is now intended that both referenced matters are now closed and no longer open to discussion.

No further payments from Mr.........are expected. No further payments to Mr.........will be made.

Any implied or inferred agreements to date are hereby abandoned.

All instructions to 3rd party interlopers are removed and any implied or inferred authority to intervene further without expressed consent in writing will be disregarded.

Any return correspondence pertaining to this Notice must be sent Recorded Delivery and received by me not later than Friday 7 January 2011 being deemed reasonable and accounts for the Christmas period. Any correspondence received which is not in keeping with the content of this Notice or is not sent in the requested manner will be returned clearly marked as such.

A copy of this notice has been forwarded to all relevant parties informing them of this intention.

Sincerely
Mrs..........
All Rights Reserved"

Sounds like a load of mumbo jumbo to me but the opinion of those of you on here legally trained would be greatly appreciated.

Do you pay eachother the same amount, do you have 5050 shared care? do you each claim CB/cTC for one child each?

Sounds like she is proposing no more maitenance.
legally, you are both free to apply to the CSA and no document will scupper that. The only way to avoid the CSA is if you have no income.

The letter seems to have been triggered by the fact the CSA have finished a year of investigation into her and found that her income is quite a bit above the amount she told them. The letter was actually written on the same day that we both were informed of the findings of their investigation. Up until that point we were paying roughly the same but now she has a load of arrears that need to be paid to me and obviously much higher ongoing CM for the next few years.

This has made me giggle.
Typical she's got found out that's she's cheating on what she pays you so now she's no longer able to con you out of money and it looks as though she might have to pay more she doesn't want to play that game any more.
Drat that CSA......... them pesky 3rd party interlopers lol
Even better that she actually has the front to try and snatch the moral and legal high ground about what correspondence will and not be entertained.
I'd register recorded delivery a two word answer
FECK OFF!!

Altho this is going to come off completely and utterly sexist and biased, I can bet that the women on this board would be up in arms about this if the situation was reversed, they would want him tarred and feathered.

And those word were from my OH mouth, not mine, the male!

I am also reading that she has issued that letter to the CSA. that will get a laugh in the office.

So you have paid the same for years to each other (effectively cancelling each others payments out) and now shes found out she dont wanna pay her arrears?

just a thought, who instigated the CM in the first place?

That the ironic bit - she ran to the CSA first as she wouldn't accept the figure that I could afford and her solicitor said was reasonable. And yep looks like the CSA were sent a copy of it too.
