I am 45. Married for 23 years, have known my stbx for nearly 30 years.
I left for many many reasons.
It is xmas day. I have a lovely day planned with someone very special who I have known for 2 years and now I can begin to be with - no I was not unfaithful!
It was hard when I first left and the guilt was inbearable as he is the king of emotional blackmailers.
I now see what he is doing to my daughter - the same that he did to me.The guilt trips, the nasty little remarks, the huge "sighs" when we don't conform to his standards.
I am out of it and she will be next year - she has a fantastic boyfriend who I fear will end up decking my stbx as he talks to my daughter like a piece of dogdirt in front of her boyfriend and this guy is getting very fed up!
Anyway ladies ( and gentlemen). All of us deserve better. My stbx was not unfaithful but he emotionally damaged me. I am getting over it now and I will be more than okay with someone who is so kind and gentle that he makes me weep with happiness.
Happy Christmas lovely lovely people xxxx
