My gf has become pregnant, but we did not plan it. She wants a kid. But I am not ready for the long term committment since I do not love her. We are not married and we do not live together. Will I still be financially responsible for a child support?

Now I tend to believe that it is better to have kids that are not yours but with a woman you love than to have your own kids with a woman you do not love.

Toms,
short answer is yes you'll be financially responsible for your child until they have completed their education (about 18 19).

You can walk away which is the easy part. You still need to pay child support , maybe in some 14 maybe 15 yrs you'll have a child out there wondering whats my dad like why did'nt he want me would he reject me now.How do i know that i'm going through this with my 14 yr old niece who is heart broken and states she feels part of her is missing and she just needs to know what her other family are like.

What about the rights of the child

But what is the alternative? How can one live with a woman he does not love?

Just think about things ok, you have made a child together and that child deserves a good start regardless as to whether you love the mother or not, try to think rationally and sensibly x
