To be honest - I dont think I will be left with nothing. Do you really think that Court will order my husband to pay zero and he will carry on with his comfortable life like nothing happened? So why he should pay me so much if I can get nothing via Court?

No catty we british women are not jealous but i think you have been slightly misled , ive been there i fought it in court and i had better grounds than you would ever have and i still lost , so if you think you are being hard done by , look again, i would accept his offer whilst it is still there and go back to your own country and get on with your own life as surely there if you have those qualifications you can earn your own wage

I don't think jealousy is the right word here.

Some of us do get a better outcome either as an offer directly or by the court because of a long marriage, age, children and even our own assets brought into the marriage. This is what is deemed as being fair.

However as in life, sometimes outcomes are not fair as in the case of Missair and I agree with her sentiments exactly.

You can apply for Citizenship in 3 years time if you are married to British citizen. In general after 5 years.
In my home country you are not allowed to have dual (double)citizenship.

So why dont you take that generous lump sum and go back to your own country and get a job on your diploma im sure you would be well off then , i think hes being very generous , and im sorry i think its wrong that you can become a british citizen just like that , the law needs to be revised very quickly if that is the case
