Hi,

Only right I add an update after all the good advice I have received from this website. Not only has the advice been good but the people I have met have been amazing!!! Become a bit of a regular in the chat room :)

I have submitted my divorce documents to court first and I am in control of divorce proceedings and costs, a huge thank you to Wiki!!!! Total divorce costs will be around £700. Just the finances to sort out now......

Ex''s solicitor seems to like writing letters that achieve nothing. Ex''s solicitor claims to put kids interests first...Mmmmmm not sure about that. Solicitor will be making lots of money from the ex!!

Current situation is house is on the market as neither of us can take it on, clean start for both is a good option in my opinion.

I am seeing the girls every other weekend and we are having a real blast! I also chat on the phone every Tues & Thurs.

I am doing really well and I have changed lots since my first post. Really looking forward to life like never before, if only you lot could see a before and now of me! The before and after will be jaw dropping!!

Obviously I am missing my girls but I have swallowed that huge bitter pill and hurt like f.... but its done.

A huge thank you to all.....
:woohoo:

Holy crap, just thought I would log on after an out of the blue moment!!

Life does get so much better!!

In a short time after these posts I was moving on and loving life. The ex was a complete control freak who was beating me down at every point.

Life is so much better now, my kids are now seeing the real me!!!

My best bit of advice would be to focus on what you had to sacrifice to end up where you are now. I re-discovered cycling that I gave up when I got married and had kids. I have had some amazing life experiences including cycling the south downs way twice and cycling the entire length of the D-Day beaches over three days!

Talk to everyone!! It really helps!!

It's always good when someone comes back to remind us that life goes on and it all gets better. Gives people hope through the tough times.

Back again for a quick update, another five years on since last post and now over ten years since it all kicked off. Despite it not being my choice, the divorce has done me the world of favours, I’m a loyal idiot and would still be there and not myself with a drama queen stressing me out. Damage to kids? I can’t quantify, don’t think anyone can. There must be some but they have done OK, eldest is now at university doing law. Others getting good grades. I love my new wife’s drive and determination without the need for drama, were going places fast and achieving lots on route! In those deepest dark times think about the sacrifices made to be with someone who doesn’t love you and how those sacrifices don’t need to happen anymore when your alone, I went cycling lots!
