Thanks to everyone that has contributed to my original posting. All of you have helped me loads. I will keep you updated with the drama and hopefully hear some more supportive comments, no doubt something will unravel over the weekend so I'll let you all know!

What you told boredstiff is factually untrue.

The wife/husband in a separated couple can ask for interim maintenance from the court.
From the information given by boredstiff, it is most probable that this maintenance would be payable.

It is extremely unhelpful to posters to put up wrong information as some people will - if not act on it - have false hopes which is the last thing they need in an acrimonious divorce situation.

I urge you to think before you write.
If you are not sure of the facts, you can always post - as many people do - " I don't know the legal background to question X, but this is what happened in my situation...."
