STBX's aren't they great!!!!!

Yeah just a barrel of laughs!

The other classic was, when speaking with son who is at uni, says, "I don't see how this affects you, after all you don't live at home any more."

You just couldn't make it up, could you?

Oh I have several, these are just a few, all these genuinely came out of my ex's mouth as reasons why I threw him out

1. its her hormones
2. all this foolishness is over a hedge trimmer
3. she's just going through a phase
4. him - "are you having an affair?" me - "definitely not, who on earth with?" him - " either M (my boss) or C (a work colleague)", me - "when am I supposed to have been having this affair, I never go out, I never work late" him - " I dunno, in your lunch break"

honestly!

I think the most common is i love you but im not in love with you,i still cant work that one out.

since he left and moved in with ow i have gone through hell.well apart from him cheating in the first place his lied , said nasty things, got his mum to lie so he could hide the most valuable asset not paid maintenance messed kids about just to name a few.

WELL ended up in hospital through stress rang him up asking him to pick kids up from parents as im in hospital and he replied " i still do love you you know " ha ha really well you have a funny way of showing it !

Well my friend thinks his been taken over by aliens.
Perhaps shes right .lol!

I also have the belief that stbx has been taken over by an alien, a selfish, self absorbed alien.
Best line I had from both stbx and ow was 'he has left me not the children' and yes the one about 'I think I'll always care for you'
oh and what about 'I have feelings for you but what is love'?

my husband left me in fuerteventura last year having beaten me in front of my middle son and my 3 sons, all traumatised and alone for a week until we could fly home and then said:

I've left you - not the kids.
He didn't take them with him.

on another occasion - in front of the police who were called when he grabbed me by the throat and was subsequently locked out of the house -

Give me my Tag watch and my Tom Tom and not
Let me see my kids

Sounds like you are much better off - at least safer - without him and certainly your kids are, so thank goodness he didn't take them!

Seriously though, I hope things are ok with you.
