Three things for me in the mail:

1) First letter from ex's solicitor's stating she was divorcing me and that I should stop harrassing her parents.

2) Christmas card from her parents sent after the solicitor's letter had come from her.

3) Christmas present from her parents...

How about this....

"I'm not having an affair with anyone. I'm having a relationship!"

"I'm not married to you just because you say I am. As soon as I walked out of the house I was single again."

"It's impossible that you are pregnant. Nobody on the pill ever gets pregnant. There's science to prove that."
(There's now a baby to prove him wrong.)

BUT he did say some other weird things that make a lot more sense with hindsight:

"I am not worthy of you."

"I don't know why you think so highly of me."

not sure if I qualify for this but I've been finding it highly amusing. Actually, we all say stupid things at times...

1)My boyfried to his stbx a month before we decided we were ready (we honestly were trying to do the right thing by everyone)to tell his kids and her that we were in a relationship:

"my flatmates going to cycle out with me - is it ok if she comes in for a cup of tea?"
we have ever since called that the 'cup of tea' insanity

2)My partner's stbx to my partner 9 months into our relationship:

"I know it was really hard for you in our marriage and I owe you this time with
her ...but we are going to have to get this sorted and get back together eventually for the kids sake"
she left him then kicked him out..she completely denied him his every emotional need...he had found and was living with me...denial I suppose? or our fault for 'trying to do the right thing' and not being brutally honest from the start

3)Me to my partner on his stbx's birthday when I didnt quite get it right at the beginning:
"you have to get her something shes the mother of your children. Come on i'll take you to the best flowershop - get her some lillies"
apparently they were the best flowers she'd ever got from him, she cried, and she "realised he still loved her..."

We all get it wrong becasue we are all human I guess! Still funny though

This is a fun thread..

Fiance divorced his ex wife due to the following..

Alcohol & Drug Abuse
Infidelity / Unreasonable Behaviour

Upon a earlier indepth discussion with daughter whom had requested why he divorced her mother - he produced "COURT PAPERS" with details of above!!

Some time later this conversation came up again - with Fiance reminding daughter of court paper evidence..

Daughter says "I asked mother about that & she said the court papers were FAKE"

Mother clearly still P******d :silly:

How about.. "i'm not leaving you for her, i'm leaving you!"Just after i'd discovered he'd bought a flat with his mistress.
Then, "if i could only have one friend for the rest of my life it would be you" ... ah so sweet. Finally he said on leaving "this is probably the greatest mistake of my life" Well let's hope so!!
